A single-day taste of Scotland's North Coast 500 — the wild north-west, without committing a week to it.
Your Day
Pickup point — usually your hotel or a central spot in Inverness (exact point to be discussed when you book)
Bealach na Bà (Applecross Pass) — one of the UK's highest and most dramatic mountain roads
Applecross — a remote coastal village with views to Skye and Raasay
Torridon — some of Scotland's oldest mountains, rising straight from the sea lochs
Wild north-west coastline — quiet beaches and viewpoints most visitors never reach
Flexible finish point — extend towards Ullapool with more time, or loop back to Inverness
Route follows the actual road out to Applecross and Torridon, and back to Inverness. Order and exact stops can flex on the day.
How It Works
Date, group size, and roughly what you'd like to see — via the form, email or WhatsApp.
I'll reply with a fixed price and a suggested route for your day.
A deposit secures your booking and the vehicle for your date.
Balance is settled on the day — you pay for the trip you actually took.
Good To Know
This is a genuinely long day — the reward is scenery few day-trippers see
Bealach na Bà is a serious mountain pass; not attempted in poor winter weather
Route can flex towards Ullapool or loop back depending on time and interest
A good option if you don't have the week for the full NC500 route
Not the whole route, which normally takes 5 to 7 days — but this gives you a genuine taste of its best-known stretch, the Applecross peninsula and Torridon, in a single long day from Inverness.
One of Britain's highest road passes, with hairpin bends and sweeping views — a highlight of the NC500 route and a memorable drive in its own right.
The Applecross Pass can close in poor winter weather. I'll confirm feasibility close to your date and suggest an alternative route if needed.
It's a full 11 to 12 hour day given the distances involved — this is the most remote of the day tours on offer.
With enough daylight and interest, yes — let me know when you enquire and I'll factor it into the route.
