Good To Know

Worth the long day

  • It's a full day — Skye rewards the distance, but it is a distance

  • Weather-dependent stops (Storr, Quiraing) prioritised when conditions allow

  • Private vehicle, so the pace is yours, not a coach schedule

  • Small group sizes mean better positioning for photos

Frequently asked questions

A day trip covers the highlights well — Eilean Donan, the Cuillins, Portree, and often Storr or Quiraing — but it's a long day given the distance from Inverness. If you have the time, an overnight lets you see more without the rush.

Around 2.5 hours each way from Inverness, which is why this is a full 11 to 12 hour day rather than a half-day trip.

Both are viewpoint stops with short walks from the car park; the full hiking routes take longer and aren't part of a day tour, but I can point you to them if you'd like to return.

Skye's weather changes fast. I'll prioritise the stops most likely to deliver good visibility on the day and adjust the order if needed.

Group size depends on the vehicle booked. Let me know your numbers when you enquire.
